- The term ‘Chartered’ in ACCA qualification refers to the Royal Charter granted in 1974. Chartered Certified Accountant is a legally protected term.
- Individuals who describe themselves as Chartered Certified Accountants must be members of ACCA and if they carry out public practice engagements, must comply with additional regulations such as holding a practising certificate, carrying liability insurance and submitting to inspections.

CAT (Certificate in Accounting Technicians)
- The Certificate in Accounting Technicians (CAT Course) is of one year duration.
- The Course consists of Education, Oral Coaching followed by on-line/off-line self assessment, on-line Examination, Computer Training, 3 months Internship and 5 days Orientation Programme.
- Eligibility Criteria A student who has passed the Class 10 examination conducted by an examining body constituted by law of India or an examination recognised by Central Government/ State Government as equivalent thereto may register for CAT Course and simultaneously study and appear for Senior Secondary (10+2) Examination.
- Or Passed the Senior Secondary School Examination under the 10+2 scheme of a recognized Board or an Examination recognized by the Central Government as equivalent thereto or has passed the National Diploma in Commerce Examination held by the All India Council for Technical Education or any State Board of Technical Education under the authority of the said All India Council, or the Diploma in Rural Service Examination conducted by the National Council of Higher Education.
